RYA Courses
Powerboat Scheme
There are thousands of powerboats in and around the UK. The RYA powerboat scheme exists to meet the training needs of those using small powerboats for sport, in support of other activities, or for work. It can be exhilarating, fun and a challenge. Completing the RYA Level 2 course will give you an internationally recognized certificate of competence. If you intend to use, hire or charter a powerboat abroad, a Level 2 Certificate is required.
Powerboat training at Sailnorfolk will be run either on Joshua, a classic 18' Hardy Navigator; a semi- displacement cruiser with the comfort of a cabin and stove aboard, or a Dell Quay Dory; widely used as a safety boat by clubs and organizations across the country.
Level 1 and Level 2 will give you the skills to handle your boat in a confident and competent manner.
Obtaining a Safety Boat Certificate will give you the confidence to handle rescue scenarios commonly encountered with club sailing.
